The annual VFW Flowers On Every Grave event placed more than 20,000 flowers last year – and is hoping to double that this Memorial Day. The 14th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at the cemetery at 9 a.m. and will honor those members of the military who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Experience Memorial Day in a historical setting this year at American Village in Montevallo. The American Village Citizenship Trust allows families to “step into history” with replicas of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home, the Oval Office, Independence Hall and more traditional building replicas and historical experiences that will teach families about history. This Memorial Day, American Village will host a Memorial Day Service in the Colonial Chapel and a wreath-laying ceremony at the National Veterans Shrine.
