Hoots & Howls: Daytime Halloween Event

Birmingham Zoo is a popular attraction at any time of the year – but it gets even better when Halloween arrives. The Hoots & Howls Daytime Halloween Event at the Birmingham Zoo is fun for all ages with the Hoots & Howls Candy Trail, snake feedings, an appearance by the Star Wars 501st Legion Storm Troopers (October 15 Only), the Cobweb Carousel, rides on the Haunted Red Diamond Express and Halloween-themed animal exhibits.
Trick or Trot 5K
WHEN: Saturday, October 22 at 8 a.m.

Lace up your running shoes and put on your best Halloween costume this year, the Trick or Trot 5K promises miles of festive fun. This race is fun for all ages with a 5k costume run in Downtown Birmingham, a costume contest, prizes and much more. Awards will be given for the Biggest Team, Most Spirited Team, Most Spirited Individual, Most Spirited Kid and Most Spirited Pet Owner. Proceeds from this Halloween event will benefit Kid One Transport.
Halloween Murder Mystery and Ghost Hunt
WHEN: Friday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Birmingham’s Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens – 331 Cotton Ave. SW Birmingham, AL 35211
Birmingham has plenty of history and the ghost stories to go with it. Do you love spooky ghost stories and murder mysteries? The Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner and Ghost Hunt is a fan favorite each year. Participants will enjoy a gourmet dinner at the Arlington Antebellum House by Chef Mathew Murphee, a mysterious murder mystery you need to solve as you eat and an exclusive ghost hunt of the mansion. Do not forget to wear your costume!
